Previously 750V was the highest rating amongst the GaN members of this family.
There are two product lines now with 900V gallium nitride options:
The AEC-Q100-qualified InnoSwitch3-AQ family is suited to 400V bus electric vehicles “where the 900V switch provides more power and increased design margin – required for 12V battery-replacement systems”, according to the company.
900V versions of the industrial InnoSwitch3-EP family are pin-for-pin compatible with existing 725 and 750V ..-EP parts “and offer increased safety margin, which is ideal for countries with unstable line voltages”, it said.
The parts are constant voltage and constant current fly-back switcher ICs with synchronous rectification. Valley switching discontinuous or continuous conduction modes are available.
For accurate regulation without opto-isolators, the IC has separate isolated die inside linked by an inductive coupler.
Up to 100W of output is available with an input of 230Vac ±15% without heat sinks, and better than 93% peak efficiency can be delivers, said the company. The ..-AQ parts can delover 100W from 400Vdc – the company also makes similar devices with a 1.7kV silicon carbide switch for 800V vehicles.
