Corso released an open power supply for medical and industrial applications that can provide 330% peak power

Corso Co., Ltd. recently announced the launch of 1000W free air convection cooling AEA1000F series power supplies. Taking into account the requirements of some demanding applications, AEA1000F can provide 330% peak power in a period of up to 3000ms. Designed for applications requiring high safety, it has passed the EN62477-1 (OVC Ⅲ) standard certification for industrial applications, and obtained the medical certification of ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 and the third edition of EN60601-1. AEA1000F is suitable for medical floating bodies (BF) and meets the safety isolation requirements of 2MOPP (IN/OUT) and 1MOPP (OUT/FG). Some layout optimizations have been made for free air convection cooling, making it very suitable for use in equipment operating in a low-noise environment.

Corso’s AEA1000F, designed for industrial and medical applications, can provide 330% peak power within 3000ms

With the continuous improvement of the automation level in industrial and medical applications, the power supply must be able to provide additional power within the time of full load operation according to dynamic loads (such as motor starting). In order to meet and maintain this state, the power supply must be designed as a power-level power supply that has a high level of dynamic control and can withstand multiple full loads. In a free-air convection cooling environment, AEA1000F can provide 330% peak power for up to 3000ms, which can excellently respond to the latest industrial and medical equipment market requirements.

Nowadays, industrial applications require high-efficiency power supplies that can work with high safety in various environments. AEA1000F has passed EN62477-1 overvoltage category III (OVC Ⅲ) certification, which means that the final equipment powered by the product can be directly connected to the main switchboard without additional isolation. This simplifies the work difficulty of system designers, reduces costs, and ensures efficiency.

For medical applications, AEA1000F input to output isolation conforms to 2MOPP, input to ground conforms to 1MOPP, and output to ground conforms to 1MOPP. Therefore, the product is suitable for floating body (BF) applications. It has passed ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 and third edition EN60601-1 certification.

AEA1000F has insulation voltage ratings of 4000VAC input to output, 2000VAC input to ground (FG) and 1500VAC output to ground (FG).

The multi-function AEA1000F has an input voltage of 85-264VAC and is suitable for use all over the world. Three output voltages are provided: 24V, 36V and 48V. The output rated currents are 42A, 28A and 21A respectively. You can also use the built-in potentiometer to adjust the output voltage yourself.

For low harmonic current distortion problems, AEA1000F uses active power factor correctors (PFC) and the latest generation of power semiconductor LLC resonant topology in the switching section to deal with current distortion problems, with a typical efficiency of up to 95%.

AEA1000F can get more power through parallel connection, and up to six units can be used in parallel. When connected in parallel, by adjusting the output voltage on the “Master” unit, the “Slaves” will automatically and neatly adjust its output voltage to an equal value.

AEA1000F is optimized for convection cooling, so that it can work in an ambient temperature range of -20 to +70 degrees Celsius. Depending on the assembly method and ventilation conditions used in the final device, the power supply may be derated according to the description in the technical documentation.

AEA1000F has built-in surge current, overcurrent, overvoltage and thermal protection Circuits.

The size of the AEA1000F open frame is 50 x 127 x 228.6mm (1.97 x 5 x 9 inches), and the maximum weight is 1.5kg.

AEA1000F meets the safety requirements UL (USA), C-UL (Canada), DEMKO (Denmark) and TUV (Germany). This product has passed UL62368-1, EN62368-1, EN62477-1 (OVC Ⅲ) certification.

In order to meet the needs of specific applications, a variety of options are provided, including: coating (C), additional cover (N), vertical positioning screws on the terminal (T), and the junction box changed to a connector (J). The extended functions are: auxiliary output (AUX1 12V1A), (AUX2 5VA1), remote ON/OFF and alarm (R3), UL508 certification (T5), over-current protection mode changed from hiccup mode to shutdown (P5).

The AEA series is suitable for various applications, such as: robotics and robotics, infusion pumps, ventilators, actuators, process control, radio and transmission equipment, and emergency signaling devices.

The AEA1000F series has a shelf life of 5 years and complies with European RoHS, REACH and low voltage directives.
