Corso Co., Ltd. recently announced the expansion of its RB series designed for medium-sized robots and factory automation, adding a 300W version. RBC300F is an open frame, configurable AC/DC power supply, with three outputs, specially customized for robot controller and factory automation. Based on a unique concept, the Corso RBC300F series provides three configurable isolated outputs, one of which has reinforced isolation to power smart gate bipolar transistors (IGBT) or equivalent applications. RBC300F has passed EN62477-1 overvoltage category (OVC) III certification. When connected to a distribution board, by reducing additional isolation transformers, the RBC300F power supply simplifies the design process for system architects while reducing costs. RBC300F benefits from digital control established in the primary stage and a control, monitoring and sequencing with an optional UART expansion communication interface.

● High efficiency-up to 92%
RBC300F is designed for global applications and can accept a single-phase input AC voltage of 85 to 264V and an output power of 300W. In order to reduce complexity and increase flexibility, RBC300F has three independent outputs. The main output (slot 1) can provide 240W, and there are three output versions: 12V/16A, 24V/10A, 48V/5A. The second output (slot 2) can carry and configure a single output module: 5V/3A, 12V/1.3A, 24V/0.65A, 3.3V/5A, 5V/5A, 12V/2.5A, 16.5V/1.9A , 24V/1.3A, 48V/0.65A, or dual output modules: ±12V/0.6A, ±15V/0.5A, ±12V/0.7A and ±15V/0.7A, the power is 14.4 to 30W, depending on the output voltage Certainly. The third output (slot 3) can accommodate any single output voltage module of the same power level. The output ports can be used in series to obtain a higher voltage. All output voltages can be adjusted by the built-in potentiometer.
Robot control applications are usually powered by 24V or 48V bus voltage. In this application, the distribution bus may be subject to repeated peak energy demand, so the power supply is required to withstand this load condition. The 24V and 48V output modules of RBC300F are designed to work efficiently under peak load conditions and can withstand up to 150% peak current.
The reinforced isolation of the third output is suitable for IGBT (intelligent gate bipolar transistor) or IPM (intelligent power module) power supply, which reduces the number of power supplies required to power the robot controller. By integrating reinforced isolation output, the “three-in-one” RBC300F reduces the number of pins equivalent to 40% compared to traditional solutions.
In order to optimize efficiency, when the second and third outputs adopt quasi-resonant-flyback topology, the main output DC/DC converter adopts LLC resonance topology.
RBC300F is protected by built-in surge current limit, overcurrent and overvoltage.
The input and output insulation voltage of RBC300F is 3000VAC, and the input insulation voltage to ground is 2000VAC. The insulation voltage between the three outputs has been optimized for the application of the robot controller. When the insulation voltage between the main output, the second output and the third output increases to 3000VAC, the insulation voltage between the main output and the second output corresponds to the 500VAC functional isolation.
The product adopts convection cooling design and can work in the range of -20 to +70°C. Depending on the assembly and cooling conditions of the final equipment, derating may be required.
In order to meet the special requirements of the application, there are many options to choose from, including coating (C), low leakage current (G), (S) (SN) different types of chassis and enclosures, (R) on/off remote control, (T) Vertical screw on the junction box, (U1) external holding capacitor input.
In order to expand flexibility, the RBC300F option (I3) has an extended UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter) digital interface, which supports 49 commands for monitoring, control and sequencing. The running data can be stored and locked in the internal memory, the recorded error code can be used for analysis, and the running hours can be used for preventive maintenance.
Options (U1) and (I3) will be available in the fourth quarter of 2020.
