“Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily” (Shanghai, researcher Zheng Yuanfang), “Big Brother” Apple only holds an iPhone launch event once a year, but the industry’s news about the new iPhone has never been far away. According to Taiwan Economic Daily, Apple’s new iPhone stocking force is strong, and Hon Hai’s Zhengzhou plant is producing new phones on a large scale. Recently, the internal recommendation bonus has been raised again to 12,700 yuan, which is directly double the original 6,000 yuan.
This is the sixth time Hon Hai has raised related bonuses this year, and it is also the first “six degree increase” in history. It is not difficult to see from this that there are many orders for new iPhones, and Apple is also very confident in the future sales of its new products. According to industry analysts, Hon Hai will be the exclusive OEM for the new 6.7-inch high-end iPhone, accounting for about 60% of the 6.1-inch models.
According to supply chain sources, the A15 processor on the new iPhone 13 is exclusively manufactured by TSMC, and TSMC plans to produce more than 100 million A15 processors from August to December this year. This also means that the initial stock of new iPhones will exceed 100 million units, which is 5% more than the agency’s estimate of 95 million units in July.
Although the global smartphone market has been weak since the beginning of this year, shipments and sales have continued to decline. Some analysts predict that global shipments in the second half of the year will drop by 6.6% year-on-year. However, this situation obviously cannot affect Apple’s stocking ambitions.
The data showed that domestic iPhone demand rebounded strongly in July, and the most relevant data for the iPhone-non-Chinese brand mobile phone shipments were “unusually strong”, up 77% year-on-year. Analysts at UBS expect a positive outlook for iPhone demand in 2022, driven by the iPhone 13 series. Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also believes that looking forward to 2021-2023, among smartphone brands, Apple has the best growth visibility, and iPhone shipments in 2021 and 2022 will reach 230-240 million and 2.4 billion respectively. 500-260 million units (about 195 million units in 2020).
Orient Securities reported on August 18 that it is optimistic about the sales of the iPhone series in the second half of the year, and the intensive release of new iPhones, Apple Watches, AirPods and other new products will further drive users’ enthusiasm for switching phones. Mainland manufacturers in Apple’s supply chain are expected to continue to make breakthroughs in the scope and share of product lines by virtue of the stable development environment of advanced manufacturing and the continuous improvement of technology. The flexibility of the leading performance of each link will be gradually released in the second half of the year.
It is worth mentioning that, according to the Nikkei report on August 4, Apple is looking for more Chinese suppliers for the new iPhone.
