There are rumors that Microsoft is secretly developing a new Cloud PC service that will provide Win32 applications for Windows 10X. The clues about Cloud PC were first discovered in a job at LinkedIn. There is almost no confirmed information, but a new news has confirmed the existence of Cloud PC.
Cloud PC is a service built on Windows virtual desktops to provide “Windows as a service.” Cloud PC is essentially aimed at enterprises, and Microsoft said it will manage this service for enterprises so that enterprises do not have to manage Windows updates and applications.
As the name suggests, Cloud PC brings your personal desktop to Microsoft Azure cloud service and allows you to remotely access the service from any device, including your Android phone or iPhone.
In a new supporting document, Microsoft accidentally confirmed that it was working on “Cloud PC”. This is the first time we have seen Microsoft publicly mention “Cloud PC” on its own platform. Microsoft simply described it as “Cloud PC Security Benchmark Template.”
This document has been online since last week and has not been discovered until now.
Cloud computing basically means that your Windows 10 operating system will be in the cloud, so you can access it remotely from anywhere. As mentioned above, this feature is for enterprises, but Windows 10X will also be equipped with the same technology to run Win32 applications through Microsoft’s cloud services.
The idea is very similar to Windows virtual desktop, but thanks to the help of Microsoft Azure, it will be more advanced and easier to use.
IT Home understands that “Cloud PC” will land sometime in early 2021, and Windows 10X, a modular operating system, is also expected to arrive sometime in early 2021.
