Odense, Denmark, December 18, 2019 – OnRobot, the global leader in robotic end-of-tool (EOAT), announces the VGC10, a small electric vacuum gripper, to meet customers’ needs for a small and powerful, highly configurable and can be used for Gripper requirements for most applications. The design of the small VGC10 is based on the award-winning OnRobot VG10 electric vacuum gripper. It is smaller and lighter than its larger counterpart, making it ideal for space-constrained environments and smaller robotic arms, but it also has a payload of up to 15 kg (35 lb). The VGC10 is quick to deploy right out of the box, while offering unlimited customization capabilities, along with easy-to-replace suction cup options and the ability to add or replace robotic arms for very specific application needs. This configurability allows the VGC10 to grab and move a variety of small, multi-dimensional and heavy objects, even when using a robotic arm with a light payload.
The VGC10 has two independently controlled air channels, allowing it to function as a dual gripper, i.e. grab and release simultaneously in the same action, further improving efficiency and reducing cycle times. This gripper can also be used with a single air channel for higher gripper performance. This small electric gripper requires no compressor or air supply, eliminating the cost, noise, space and maintenance required for compressed air, making it easy to use and move. Fully integrated software through OnRobot’s new all-in-one system solution platform enables rapid deployment and redeployment on any major collaborative or light industrial robotic arm for increased production flexibility.
“We’ve heard from customers that they really like the functionality of the VC10 gripper, but they sometimes need a more configurable, more compact model, so we’re offering this.” OnRobot CEO Enrico Krog Iversen express. “OnRobot’s mission is to provide a one-stop shop for innovation and collaborative end-of-line tools, allowing manufacturers to focus on their application rather than the sophistication of the robot. The VGC10 is another good example.”
