Generally speaking, different PCB boards can be used, or the same board, which is especially suitable when the size is small and the quantity is large, so as to facilitate post-chip processing and improve production efficiency. I will briefly explain the nine steps of PCB imposition.
1. Determine the length and width of the board in the PCB file, as shown in the figure below, the board frame is 100 mm long and 75 mm wide.
2. Bring up the Color Display dialog and turn off all irrelevant Displays, leaving only the board frame.
3. Press the right mouse button, select the board frame, then select all the board frame area, press CTRL+C on the keyboard to copy, and press CTRL+V to paste. When pasting the board frame, the prompt shown in the figure below will appear, leave it alone.
Tip: Since the pads software cannot have two board frames, it will automatically become a 2D line after pasting the board frame.
4. Put the board frame to be pasted on the side. Since there cannot be two board frames, it will automatically become a 2D line after pasting. Click the left mouse button where you need to put it down, and you can find that the line is missing. It is because the 2D line was turned off before, and the 2D line can be checked in the color display box.
5. Select the board frame just pasted and execute the copy command. Then enter the PCB footprint editor and paste the board frame you just copied. Right-click “Distribution and Replication”.
6. In the pop-up dialog box, select “Right” for the direction, “2” for the quantity, and “100mm” for the distance to confirm the length of the plate and frame measured before.
7. The effect after confirmation is as shown in the figure below, and then select the three figures in the figure, right-click to distribute and repeat, select “up” for the direction, enter “2” for the quantity, and fill in the width of the board frame measured before “75mm” for confirmation.
8. The effect after distribution is as shown in the figure below. It is also necessary to add a 5mm process edge, position the origin at the lower left corner of the board frame, change the display grid point and design grid point to 5mm, draw with 2d line, and draw on the 5mm grid point. That’s it, add a 5mm craft edge in the same way on the right.
9. After spelling it out, select all to copy, return to the PCB interface, and paste it against the board frame.
It should be noted that all the board and frame diagrams should be placed in ALL layers (all layers), and then the gerber can be released. So far, the PADS layout puzzle frame method has been completed, I hope it can be helpful to everyone.
