Rhombus uses Wolfspeed SiC devices for faster EV charging

[Introduction]May 12, 2022, Durham, North Carolina, USA and Shanghai, China – Wolfspeed, Inc. (NYSE: WOLF), a global leader in silicon carbide (SiC) technology, recently announced that it will cooperate with electric vehicles ( Rhombus Energy Solutions, a leader in EV) charging and power conversion technology, has entered into an important collaboration, whose SiC MOSFETs will be used by Rhombus in its EV2flex™ series of charging infrastructure products, which will enable Rhombus products to achieve higher efficiency and higher power density and faster charging times.

Rhombus’ EV2flex™ charging infrastructure includes a range of products that enable fast, bidirectional charging and efficient energy storage. Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging supports the flow of electricity between the grid and the car, so that a charged car can also become a power source when needed, ultimately enhancing the stability of the grid.
