TDK’s New Compact Capacitors With Ultra-High Ripple Current Capability

TDK Corporation (Tokyo: 6762) presents the new B43707* and B43727* series of EPCOS aluminum electrolytic capacitors in screw type. The new series of capacitors are rated for operating voltages from 400 V DC to 450 V DC and have a capacitance range of 1800 ?F to 18,000 ?F. In addition, the capacitors have very high CV values ​​and are very compact in size from only 51.6 mm x 80.7 mm to 76.9 mm x 220.7 mm (diameter x height), depending on capacitance and voltage.

Capacitors in this series have a maximum operating temperature of 85°C and an ultra-high ripple current capability of up to 63.9 A AC (100 Hz, 60°C). Additionally, it offers a special pedestal cooling design that promises to double the ripple current capability again. Among them, the B43707* series is installed with a ring clamp, and the B43727* series is installed through the stud at the bottom of the barrel.

This robust new capacitor is widely used in industrial power supplies, frequency converters, UPS systems, and renewable energy applications such as converters in photovoltaic and wind power plants.
