By region, eight US-based manufacturers were shortlisted. South Korea, Taiwan and Europe each have two manufacturers on the list.

According to the statistics of manufacturers, among the top 15 manufacturers, Qualcomm, Broadcom, Nvidia, Mediatek, AMD and Apple are fabless. The pure wafer foundry is TSMC. Except for these vendors, all other vendors are IDM. The report further emphasizes that if pure fab TSMC is excluded, then NXP will be included in this list. In the first quarter of 2021, the company’s sales were US$2.503 billion.

It is worth noting that MediaTek and AMD replaced Huawei Hisilicon and Sony on the list. AMD’s sales in the first quarter increased by 93% year-on-year, which was the fastest growing among the top 15 companies, rising by 7 places and ranking 11th. In addition, the company expects annual sales in 2021 to increase by approximately 50%. MediaTek’s sales in the first quarter increased by 90% year-on-year, rising 6 places and ranking 10th.

In the first quarter, fabless suppliers (AMD, MediaTek, Qualcomm and Nvidia) all grew at a rate of over 50% year-on-year. And only the top Intel sales fell year-on-year.
