TSMC MediaTek is on the list of semiconductor TOP15, HiSilicon is out

November 30 news (Nanshan) Market research company IC Insights recently released a briefing, predicting the ranking of the top 15 semiconductor suppliers in 2020, of which Intel, Samsung, and TSMC will be the top three.

Among the top 15 semiconductor suppliers in the world in 2020, there are 8 manufacturers headquartered in the United States, 2 each headquartered in South Korea, Taiwan and Europe, and 1 in Japan. There are no companies in mainland China on the list.

It is worth mentioning that IC Insights previously released the sales ranking of the top ten semiconductor manufacturers in the world in the first half of 2020, and HiSilicon ranked 10th. Today, HiSilicon has fallen out of the TOP15.

MediaTek, on the other hand, with its 5G chip sales, its revenue increased by 35% year-on-year, rising all the way from 16th to 11th, close to occupying the former position of HiSilicon.

Despite the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, which caused a severe global recession in 2020, the semiconductor industry has achieved contrarian growth. IC Insights expects sales of the top 15 semiconductor companies in 2020 to increase by 13% compared to 2019, slightly more than double the overall expected growth of 6% for the global semiconductor industry.
