A few days ago, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the launch of a new customizable touch feedback actuator for commercial touch screens, joysticks and touch switch panels—IHPT-1411AF-AB0. Vishay’s customized electromagnetic IHPT-1411AF-AB0 is a small two-piece structure with mounting holes for easy installation and direct operation. It has high shock pulse and vibration capabilities, and can provide clarity in noisy environments or any occasions that require mechanical response. Tactile feedback. The operating temperature of this touch feedback actuator can reach +105 °C, making it an ideal choice for harsh environments.

IHPT-1411AF-AB0 is an electromagnetic device that can convert electrical energy into a mechanical pulse or vibration signal for touch operation, which varies with the size of the power and the duty cycle of the input voltage. The touch coil assembly generates a magnetic field under the excitation of a DC voltage pulse, and absorbs the installed moving magnetic core. After the power is off, the spring assembly provided by the customer will return the magnetic core.

The adjustable fast response time of the device is less than 5 ms, can produce a variety of high resolution (HD) tactile effects, the rated working voltage is 12 V, and the highest voltage can reach 16 V. Typical end products include LCD Displays used in industrial appliances, building and factory automation control systems, as well as Electronic retail terminals (POS), medical monitoring, diagnostic and surgical equipment, handheld radios, game or analog controllers, and barcode scanners. Application areas also include rotary or joystick control devices, as well as touch switches and button control panels.

The IHPT-1411AF-AB0 frame and core components have a simple structure, which is convenient for designers to adjust the spring and shell layout. The shell and the display firmware are integrated without additional shells, making it low cost, low component height and compared with competing technologies. Excellent performance in high force density, including linear resonance, linear broadband, eccentric rotating mass, and piezoelectric actuators. In addition, Vishay can also provide worry-free fixed IHPT devices, including return springs and mounting holes for quick installation in customer applications.

The device released a few days ago can drive 0.5 kg load to 6 g acceleration under 12 V, 5 ms pulse conditions; competitive technology can only drive 0.1 kg to 0.2 kg load to reach this level. The inductance of the driving coil is 1.8 mH, the typical DC resistance (DCR) is 0.95 W, and the insulation withstand voltage between the coil and the magnetic core is 150 VDC. The new actuator complies with RoHS and Vishay green standards, is halogen-free, and uses 100% dip solder standard lead termination. Vishay can customize IHPT-1411AF-AB0 installation direction, termination type and performance according to any design specifications.

The new touch feedback actuator is now available for sampling and mass production has been achieved, with a lead time of 12 weeks.
